I could not write during the months of January  February and march due to having a massive depressive episode accompanied with a writer’s block. The events have filled me with sadness and inability to comprehend the shock and the grief that i’m going through. However my friends and my family and my partner were always there by my side to support me as long as I do not lose hope and try and investigate how to make myself more resilient and more steadfast as the Palestinian cause is crucial to my Palestinian identity. And hopefully one day our right to return to our land will be achieved. I have written some highlights to explain briefly what has been happening during those months.

Highlights from January:

This current genocide continues by bombing hospitals and schools and civilian places like churches and aid institutions.

This is a crime against humanity  . People are dying from hunger and slow starvation mechanisms, especially children, the effect of the famine is strong on malnourished children which makes the child unable to survive. As I mentioned that statistic before that most  of Gaza’s children are under the age of 18 and 50% of 2.2 million are children.

Highlights from February:

I went to Cork for a holiday in February and it felt really emotional  to see the Palestinian flags and banners as I know the Irish has a long term history of supporting the Palestinians.

We found out that our house in Gaza was completely destroyed from Israeli airstrikes, this is all part of erasing identity and carrying out genocide on the Palestinian people by making them starve through the cold winter months. Mama’s concerned about the losses that innocent children are going to face and the illnesses that they face such as upper respiratory infections. The innocent children of Gaza shouldn’t pay the price of what Hamas has done.
